Webb27 apr. 2016 · For this sashing, you’ll need four 2″ sashing strips (these will be the length of your blocks), one 2″ square for the center of the star, and eight 1.25″ squares for the points of the star. Lay on of the 1.25″ squares on a corner of the sashing strip, as shown below. Sew each of the squares on the end of each sashing strip on diagonally.

Webb9 apr. 2015 · So I would need to cut the sashing strips 2 1/2" wide by 4" long. Which makes the cornerstones 2 1/2" by 2 1/2" square. In the next picture you will see that I have a 2 1/2" strip that I cut just as I did the strip for the blocks. And from that 2 1/2" x WOF [Width of Fabric] strip I will cut 2 1/2" squares. WebbI actually nestled a small dove block inside a large dove block to create a quarter section for each 19½” block. Add sashing and cornerstones to those quarter sections and you have a great, interesting block. Put it on point, and that Dove really soars! Details.
